Emerging Trading Markets Working Groups
IETA’s emerging trading markets Working Groups follow and influence policy developments in Japan, China, India, Australia, New Zealand, Korea, and elsewhere, allowing members to debate and engage with Governments and other stakeholders at the level of general policy and also detailed system design.
- IETA has a representative based in Melbourne who covers carbon market developments in Australia & New Zealand, and supports an Australian & New Zealand Working Group. This is a growing area of interest for IETA members given Australia's approach to carbon pricing and New Zealand's existing trading mechanism.
- The Japan, China, India, and Korea working groups track domestic market and global developments, notably those Governments’ efforts to introduce national trading systems, as well as international developments that have implications for national policies.
- IETA’s Carbon Forum Asia — the largest carbon conference and trade fair in the region — supports Asia’s deep engagement in the Clean Development Mechanism, bringing buyers and sellers together. IETA’s involvement in partnership with major multilateral institutions, promotes the emissions trading message and the visibility of IETA member companies.
