Introduction

In order to achieve their targets set under the Kyoto Protocol Annex I countries have the ability to apply 3 different mechanisms in which they can collaborate together with other parties and thereby achieving an overall reduction in GHG emission. 

The three mechanism are:

1. Joint Implementation or JI
2. Clean Development Mechanism or CDM
3. Emission Trading
