IETA’s US Working Group focuses on emerging federal and sub-national GHG trading and offsets programs. Members stay abreast of legislative, markets and regulatory developments, and gain access to policy leaders.
The USWG:
- Organizes frequent conference calls with senior staff from Capitol Hill, State Governments, legislative committees, and regulatory agencies – providing input to the Speaker of the House, the House and Senate Majority Leaders, the White House, and EPA, among others.
- Serves as an expert resource to Capitol Hill on design of emissions trading platforms. Congressional Staff frequently turn to IETA for advice on key market-design and cost-containment details. IETA has testified before Senate Committees and regularly appears in the media as an advocate for sound market policies.
- Provides members cross-industry networking opportunities. Regular symposiums and conferences, often in partnership with other leading industry and climate associations, bringing together leading policy and market experts from many disciplines.
