IETA TOKYO CARBON MARKET DIALOGUE 2026

Part of the 2026 IETA Regional Carbon Market Dialogue Series, we are delighted to bring to you this year the IETA TOKYO Carbon Market Dialogue, taking place in Tokyo.

With Japan’s mandatory GX-ETS launching in April 2026, and international market linkages being advanced through the Joint Crediting Mechanism (JCM); IETA is looking to organize a one-day Tokyo Carbon Dialogue on the 14 May 2026.

The day will include:

• A closed-door (by invitation) meeting around GX-ETS, JCM & J-credits
• An IETA-members Japan WG meeting with networking lunch
• A public-facing afternoon event with Launch of IETA’s Japan WG Report to invited media, government representatives and panel discussions
• An evening networking reception

The meetings before noon will take place at Sumitomo Corporation with capacity for around 35 participants. The public-facing sessions in the afternoon will take place at the Otemachi hall (Ōtemachi, 1 Chome−2−1 Otemachi One 3F) with capacity for around 100 participants. This will be followed by an evening networking reception at an adjacent location.

This in-person only Dialogue is free of charge with mandatory pre-registration (limited capacity). Participation is subject to the organiser confirmation.
