Part of IETA's annual regional climate summit series, the Latin America Climate Summit (LACS) 2026 is the leading gathering of carbon markets practitioners, experts and government across Latin America and the Caribbean. Organised by IETA and hosted by the Secretary of Environment of Nuevo León, this 12th edition will take place 2-4 June 2026 at EGADE Business School y Escuela de Gobierno y Transformación Pública del Tec in Mexico.
Bringing together around 800 delegates, LACS combines regional leadership with global perspectives, focusing on how emerging emissions trading systems, carbon taxes, international markets mechanisms, and innovation-driven infrastructure can enable credible climate action and sustainable economic growth.
As an in-person only event featuring simultaneous translation English-Spanish, LACS offers a unique opportunity to engage directly with policymakers, market developers, investors, communities, and innovators, influencing both regional and global carbon market architecture.
LACS 2026 brought together leaders from across the carbon markets community in Monterrey, Mexico, for three days of high-level debate on the issues shaping the region's climate ambition. From Article 6 implementation and CORSIA to nature-based solutions and Mexico's emerging ETS, the conversations were substantive, candid, and forward-looking.
