The Turkish Carbon Market Dialogue is a high-level, in person event co-organised by IETA and GAIA Climate, with the generous support of the Istanbul Chamber of Industry, which will host the event at its Istanbul headquarters. 

TURKISH CARBON MARKET DIALOGUE

About the event

Taking place on 10 September 2025, the Dialogue will convene decision-makers and technical experts from government, industry, finance, and civil society to exchange insights on the future of carbon markets in Türkiye and the key developments of the global carbon market landscape. 

The event will run from 10:00 to 17:00, with a welcome coffee at 09:30 and a networking reception to follow. Sessions will be held under the Chatham House Rule, encouraging open and constructive dialogue. 

Agenda highlights include: 

  • Turkish ETS developments and alignment with national climate goals
  • EU CBAM and implications for Turkish and EU industry
  • Global carbon market trends and voluntary market dynamics
  • Article 6 and CORSIA deep dives 

The format: 

  • 2  plenary sessions for broad, strategic discussions (around 75 minutes)
  • 3 deep dive sessions for technical and narrower topics (30–45 minutes)
  • Interactive dialogue with opportunities for audience engagement 

 The Dialogue is designed for: 

  • Senior officials from Turkish Ministries and public institutions
  • Executives and sustainability leads from industry and utilities
  • Financial institutions, investors, and carbon market intermediaries
  • International organisations, think tanks, and academic institutions 

 The event is designed as a fully in-person event with limited capacity (approx. 120–150 participants).  Remote participation will not be available.
