What Future for Clean Cooking in the Paris Agreement Crediting Mechanism (PACM)?

Clean cooking projects have undergone a significant transformation in recent years as the sector is adapting to more stringent methodologies, technological developments, and shifting buyers’ requirements. 

As the Article 6.4 Supervisory Body (SBM) prepares to discuss the approval of two clean cooking methodologies at its 23rd meeting on 5-9 October, IETA is convening SBM members, experts and practitioners to discuss the future of this activity type in the nascent UNFCCC crediting mechanism. How are new methodological tools and requirements impacting existing projects and new investment? How can PACM methodologies channel large volumes of finance into clean cooking activities? What will the role of carbon finance be in the achievement of Sustainable Development Goal 7 (SDG7) on universal access to clean cooking?
