IETA, together with industry and market organisations, has issued a joint statement calling on European leaders to maintain a strong and stable EU Emissions Trading System (EU ETS) as a cornerstone of Europe’s competitiveness, energy security and industrial decarbonisation.
The statement comes amid discussions about potential changes to the EU’s flagship climate policy. The signatories emphasise that stable and credible policy instruments such as the EU ETS are essential to guide investment in clean energy and low-carbon technologies.
