IETA STRENGTHENS EU LEADERSHIP WITH NEW POLICY DIRECTOR

IETA is pleased to announce the appointment of Aurora D’Aprile as its EU Policy Director. This is a pivotal addition to our leadership, and one that will drive our ambitions across the European carbon market forward with renewed focus and valuable expertise.

IETA STRENGTHENS EU LEADERSHIP WITH NEW POLICY DIRECTOR

As the EU Emissions Trading System (ETS) continues to evolve and the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) moves into full implementation, IETA remains committed to ensuring our members are equipped to navigate these regulatory shifts with confidence. Representing the business community at the forefront of carbon markets, our engagement with EU policy has never been more critical – and this appointment reflects that commitment in action.

Having joined IETA in 2024, Aurora has built a thorough understanding of our membership, our advocacy work, and the rapidly shifting EU regulatory environment. This appointment is a natural progression, recognising both the depth of knowledge and the strength in leadership Aurora brings to this critical area of IETA's work.

Dirk Forrister, President and CEO at IETA, said: “Aurora’s appointment marks an important moment for IETA in Europe. As the EU’s carbon market frameworks become ever more central to global climate policy, our dedicated leadership in this space ensures we can continue to deliver real value for our members and engage with EU institutions at the highest level.”

Aurora D’Aprile, EU Policy Director at IETA, said: “I am delighted to take on this role at such a pivotal time for European Carbon markets. The EU ETS and CBAM represent some of the most significant regulatory developments in our space, and I look forward to working closely with our members to help them navigate and shape what comes next.”

As the EU's carbon market framework continues to mature, we are confident that this appointment strengthens IETA's ability to represent our members, engage meaningfully with EU institutions, and play a leading role in shaping the future of carbon markets in Europe.
