On 15 June, IETA submitted its response to the GHG Protocol's RFI on the Actions and Market Instruments (AMI) Phase 1 Progress Update White Paper.
On behalf of our 300+ global members, we voiced support for the newly proposed multi-statement reporting structure – while pushing for greater clarity on market-based GHG accounting, streamlined statement categories, and consideration of relevant jurisdictional regulations and voluntary initiatives.
Transparent accounting of carbon markets and climate action is essential to affordable, efficient decarbonization. We look forward to continued engagement with the GHG Protocol as the AMI Standard develops ahead of its expected 2027 consultation and 2028 publication.
