IETA has published its COP30 Summary Report, capturing the key outcomes and dynamics of the UN Climate Conference in Belém, Brazil, at a pivotal moment for global climate action.

IETA Releases COP30 Summary Report

While COP30 delivered fewer headline political breakthroughs, the conference reflected a renewed — if challenging — commitment to multilateralism and made meaningful progress on adaptation, finance, gender, and, notably, the strongest collective support yet for carbon markets.

The report highlights advances in Article 6 implementation following completion of the Paris Agreement Rulebook, the formal closure of the Clean Development Mechanism, and growing momentum behind domestic compliance markets and international cooperation.

It also reflects on the challenges that remain, including ambition gaps, finance constraints, and ongoing debates around integrity and scalability. The report showcases IETA’s extensive engagement at COP30, including policy leadership, high-level dialogues, and convening the IETA–ICC Business Pavilion.
